Is Helmholtz corner caused by one quick bow stroke, similar to a string pluck, where ( multiple times ) the pulse travels down the wire and reflects back ? E.g., as you illustrate, slipping causes multiple corners, i.e., a corner for each slip or pluck. Reason I'm asking is, if bow is kept steady with no slipping on string , seems that we get a corner lasting as long as bow is placed. How to draw this?
