Surely a contentious issue, and a philosophical one given the difficulty in providing a sound proof. I would say that the maths we use and humanity's obsession with conquering nature and creating an ordered mono-culture of math, actually is the baggage. And then when that's stripped away instead, what's left is the real universe, devoid of maths. A descriptive language which currently isn't perfect and contains paradoxes. I'm very aware how important quantisation of energy is, but numbers are human interpretations of these fundamental states which we ourselves are describing with the mathematical language we have created. Fantastic article - really good for a philosophical debate.
