If we continue to think of the Universe as infinite, there are bound to be some concerns over conservation of energy principles when at some point in the distant future all matter eventually comes to rest. If we consider the universe today as the existence of matter and energy at a point in time in a never-ending cycle of expansion, contraction and energy conversion which behave much like the movement of a ball bouncing without end, like a wave motion curved in on itself, it will be finite. The question now becomes where in the cycle rather than what happened before the big bang.

It would seem logical that the creator of the universe would have a natural extension to us and be governed by the same laws of physics and science such as we would perceive such as in the process of evolution as we have on earth, but this may not be the case. There seems to be an abrupt beginning known as the big bang because the creator may be so much different than us and possibly even be governed by different forces of its own cosmic nature and existence. Our universe may have sprung into life using its own distinctive principles which would give it completeness and functionality separate from what exists elsewhere.

Outside of our universe may exist a realm with a different set of principles which support the creator's existence, for example there may be an absence of gravity or light in this realm as these may not significantly apply outside of our universe. Einstein used the speed of light as a limiting factor in his theory of relativity. Movement in time may be impossible for us given our limiting laws of nature but may not be impossible for those existing in this different realm.
