Nalini Joshi has just been elected Vice President of the International Mathematical Union (IMU), which organises the International Congress of Mathematicians and awards the Prizes. We talk to her about the work of the IMU, her own work in mathematics, and the SAGE programme she has helped set up to improve gender equity in STEM subjects in Australia.
