Ellen Brooks Pollock

Ellen is Professor of Infectious Disease Modelling at the University of Bristol, based in the Bristol Vaccine Centre. Her research uses mathematical and epidemiological models to understand disease transmission and inform public health policy, with a focus on translating complex modelling into actionable insights for decision-makers. Her main interests (September 2026) are One Health and vaccine preventable diseases. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she contributed to UK government advisory efforts linked to SAGE for which she was awarded an OBE in 2021 for services to infectious disease modelling and public health.
